1 cups unsweetened applesauce

1 cups granulated sugar

9 tablespoons butter or stick margarine, softened

3 cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

teaspoon ground allspice

teaspoon baking soda

teaspoon salt

cup raisins Cooking spray

2 teaspoons powdered sugar




1. Preheat oven to 325'.


2. Place applesauce in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at MEDIUM (50% power) 2 minutes or until warm.


3. Combine granulated sugar and butter; beat at medium speed of a mixer 5 minutes. Add warm applesauce; beat well. Combine flour and next 5 ingredients; stir well. Add to applesauce mixture; beat until well blended. Stir in raisins.


4. Pour batter into a 10-inch Bundt pan coated with cooking spray. Bake at 325 degrees for 50 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Let cool in pan 10 minutes on a wire rack; remove from pan. Let cool completely on wire rack. Sift powdered sugar over cooled cake. Yield: 16 servings.
