4 egg whites

tsp cream of tartar

1 cup of sugar

cup ground peanuts (or 1/3 cup mini-chocolate chips)



Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Cover cookie sheet(s) with parchment paper (foil work O.K.)


Beat egg whites in large bowl with electric mixer until foamy. Add cream of tartar; beat until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar until stiff peaks form. Fold in peanuts.


Drop teaspoonful onto prepared cookie sheets. Bake hr. or until lightly browned. Turn oven off. Leave in oven 1/2 hr. Peel off paper.


Make 3 dozen or more.

May be sprinkled with colored sugar before baking for the holidays.
