berries with creamy lemon sauce

Add tangy, sweet flavor to your berries with this POINT-friendly dessert sauce. Or try it drizzled over warmed angel food cake.

Yield/Serves: 4




1 cup fat-free milk

cup sugar

1 Tbsp all-purpose flour

tsp lemon extract

2 cups strawberries, hulled and halved

1 cup blueberries


Combine milk, sugar and flour in the top of a double boiler. Cook over simmering water, stirring frequently, until mixture thickens, about 30 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in lemon extract. Place plastic wrap on surface of mixture; refrigerate until cool.


Place about cup of strawberries and cup of blueberries into each of 4 stemmed glasses. Spoon about cup of lemon sauce into each cup.
